The Cultural Cooperative Pro Orivesi owns a beautiful, traditional campus site with five buildings in a scenic park. It is situated in the middle of the small city of Orivesi in Western Finland, 45 kilometres from the city of Tampere.
The rooms for accommodation are situated on the 4th floor of the main building. The rooms range from 11 to 17 square meters. Some rooms also have a balcony. The shared kitchen with basic equipment is avaible near the rooms.
For visual artists there are premises in different buildings. Easels can be borrowed on site. Art exhibitions can be arrenged in the Kampus gallery, Galleria Akvaario.
For musicians there are separate soundproof rehearsal rooms, two classrooms and a chamber music hall in the Suvanto building. There are a few pianos and a grand piano available.
For writers there are different working premises.
Communications and services: Orivesi Kampus has a broadband connection and a free wifi. On Kampus there is a private hotel, Hotelli Sointula, and a restaurant, Ravintola Wanha Opisto, which caters and serves by prior arrangement.
Cooperation: The Cultural Cooperative Pro Orivesi arranges education, courses and events and also hires facilities for other organizers.
Applications are welcome all year round. The premises will be hired round the year as agreed, from the minimum time period of one month. The applications with a brief introduction and work plans during the stay can be sent to info@orivedenkampus.fi.
Rent: The rent of an accommodation is 300 € – 400 € per month (depending on the room size) plus water charge 25 € /person / month. A working space is free of charge for the resident.
